Internet2, ESnet, Infinera, Juniper Networks and Level 3 Communications have formed a joint development effort to aggressively develop and test emerging 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) technologies. The Call for Nominations for candidates to serve on the Internet2 Board of Trustees and the Internet2 Advisory Councils is now open. The Internet2 Board currently has 4 openings, and the Advisory Councils each have one opening per constituency. Internet2 is also seeking nominations for community representation on the Governance & Nominations Committee. Nominations will be accepted until November 21. The election will take place in February 2009.

Internet2 and Internet2 members are participating in SC08, the annual High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis conference, taking place 15-21 November in Austin, Texas. Internet2 is collaborating with the SCinet committee, in partnership with LEARN and its members in Texas, to support the networking requirements of participants and exhibitors at SC08, including connectivity to the Internet2 Dynamic Circuit Network.
